About

Terry “Baldy” Johnson is the President of B.A.L.D.Y ATHLETICS Inc. (Balance, Academic, Leadership, Discipline through Youth Athletics), located in Volusia County.

B.A.L.D.Y ATHLETICS INC. is a 501.C3 non-profit organization which assists youth financially, educationally and with skills development to reach their full potential of being successful in a competitive environment.

 

Since 2015, the organization provides mentoring, tutoring, athletic skills training and AAU competition to basketball, flag football and baseball players in the Volusia County area.

 

Johnson is a graduate of Seabreeze Senior High School (Class of 1985) where he was a standout in football, basketball and baseball.

 

He was First Team All-State in both football and basketball in high school. In football,  

Johnson was News Journal Offensive Player of the Year; Central Florida Offensive Player of the Week and Volusia County Offensive Player of the Week three times.

 

Johnson’s prep hoops honors includes three times, Central Florida First Team, North/South football and basketball All-Star games and nominated to play on the 1985 Team Florida basketball team.

He was a standout at Stetson University under legendary Coach, Dr. Glenn Wilks where he set several basketball records 1985-1989. Johnson left Stetson as the all-time assists leader (507). He is now fifth in that category. Johnson lead the team in 3-point field goals made from 1985-1989 (86); 3-point percentage in a season 1987-1988 (44.3); assists in a season 1986-1987 (179); steals in a season 1986-1987 (53); and steals in a career rank 5th all -time 1985-1989 (95).

 

Johnson earned his AA degree in Liberal Arts at Daytona Beach Community College and bachelors of science in physical education at Bethune-Cookman College.

 

Johnson has over 25 years of coaching experience in boys and girls basketball at the high school, AAU, P.A.L. and others levels including the following accomplishments:

  • 14U PAL Girls State Champion 2002

  • 14U PAL Boys State Champions 2001

  • 14U AAU Super Regional Champions 2015

  • 17U Housing Authority FAHRO State Champions 2016 & 2017

  • 10U AAU International Champions 2018

  • 10U AAU Super Regional Champions 2018

  • 11U AAU State Champions 2019
